Underwood Tattoo Studio

"Wear your heart on your skin in this life.” - Silvia Plath

Tattoos are a form of self-expression; a permanent way to show the world who you are and what you like.

A tattoo can hold a lifetime of memories and getting one should be an incredible experience that stays with you forever. Opened by Mim and Rob Theyer in 2011, Underwood Tattoo Studio has been designed with this in mind.

Everything from the decor to our plants has been chosen to make our clients feel right at home from the moment they walk through the door to the moment they leave. We’re proud to be consciously breaking away from the traditional tattoo aesthetic.

Our studio is a safe and inclusive space, where everyone is welcome and able to completely be themselves.

The studio is wheelchair accessible and we mostly work by appointment, so we can adjust the privacy levels to meet everyone’s needs.

As long-time vegans our studio and tattoo process are fully vegan too.

Our amazing tattoo artists love to do custom work and we don’t charge any extra for this. We really take the time to listen to our clients and get everything just right, so that everyone has the perfect experience.

Outside of the studio I can usually be found hanging out with my wildling kids, cats and pup, hugging trees, reading, watching TV or gaming. I love books, cartoons, movies, mythology and nerdy or weird stuff…

When it comes to tattooing, I find myself really inspired by nature, pop culture and symbolic imagery. Working on interesting and unique designs is my happy place, especially when using an illustrative style, and I love to tattoo in colour or black and grey. I really enjoy the challenge of a cover up and feel honoured to help with tattooing over older work and scarring. I know that tattoos have a transformative effect on a person’s confidence and well-being and my goal is to make sure that everyone loves their body art.
See you soon!

When I’m not tattooing, you’ll likely find me warbling along to metal, playing computer games, watching zombie movies and badly playing the guitar.

I have two crazy children who are my absolute world and I love spending time with my family.

I like tattooing in soft black and grey and am inspired by Japanese and New Traditional styles.
